5- Week Beginner Programs

We want your first class experience to be memorable, one that felt comfortable and with as little anxiety as possible.

To achieve this, we don't just dump you in the main class (as can happen with other organisations) not knowing any of the things being taught in the class. How daunting would that feel!

At Divergent Martial Arts, we believe the best way for a new student to join us, is to participate in one of our 5-Week Beginner Programs. There will only ever be a maximum of 4 students!  All of the participants in our beginner courses are new to Krav Maga, so you'll be learning foundation skills alongside others just like you. Over the 5 weeks, you will learn actual, real-life, effective self defence skills, make new friends, build your confidence and most of all have fun along the way. By week 5, you'll have met the entire class that you will eventually join, have done some drills with them and before you know it, you are part of the main group.

Register your interest in one of our 5-Week Beginner Programs below, to start your Martial Arts journey with Divergent Martial arts TODAY!

Whilst training in KRAV MAGA can be physically challenging sometimes, the classes offered at Divergent Martial Arts are always conducted so that we only push a student according to their own level and not that of another students!

Generally speaking, you do not need to be fit to start training KRAV MAGA, but if you have a physical ailment, are not accustomed to exercise or are over the age of 40, we recommend that you consult with your doctor prior to commencing training, just as you would prior to starting any rigorous exercise program.

How is progress tracked in KRAV MAGA?

In all of the KRAV MAGA programs on off at Divergent Marts, we have a clear syllabus in place to help monitor and map a students progress.

Students start their journey in Krav Maga at 'White' rank, and when progress requirements have been met such as time spent training (in conjunction with time spent on the mats), students will be asked to Grade (participate in an assessment process) where skills learnt are demonstrated and tested in a number of scenarios to ensure the skills taught have been retained so that they can be recalled should the need arise.

The 'rank'  levels of achievement in KRAV MAGA are as follows:
- White

- Yellow

- Orange

- Blue

- Green

- Brown

- Black

- Additional Black Belt Ranks can be achieved by Adult Practitioners only
